Baidyabati
is a city and a municipality in Hooghly district.of West Bengal.
It is under Serampore police station in Serampore subdivision.
The Nimai Tirtha Ghat is a well-known bank of the river Ganges
that was visited by Lord Chaitanya Maha Prabhu. The Bhadrakali
temple situated here is also very famous. Baidyabati, at the
riverside of the Ganges in the district Hooghly, bears a special
history which is embedded in the Hogla bushes of the riverside,
now "Dirghanga", gradually came to be known as "Baidyabati".
Baidyabati has shown great progress in the spheres of communication,
education, sanitation, and e.t.c. The establishment of Centenary
Celebration was undertaken which made great transformation to
the town and now it is proceeding towards success.
